Remote Control DBA has installed and configured dozens of Oracle RAC clusters on several different platforms all over the world. Our vast experience and expertise in RAC allows us to offer RAC Installation and Configuration in as little as one day for two-node clusters when all prerequisites (Download the prerequisite checklist) are met.

The installation includes:

  1. Verify configuration of hardware, operating system, shared storage and private network
  2. Install, patch, configure and test Oracle ClusterWare, RDBMS and Native Compiler
  3. If necessary, create ASM instances and configure ASM storage
  4. Create a test DB
  5. Configure and test Oracle Networking, including Transparent Application Failover

This service provides you with a turnkey clustered Oracle Database in one day for the fixed price of $2,500. When the work is accomplished remotely, your cluster can be up and running within 24 hours of your request if there are no delays in getting connected to your network via your VPN or any other remote connectivity solution.

Additional time is available at a rate of $150/hr for multi-node installations, configuring backups, training and migrating existing databases. Resources are also available to help in planning the RAC configuration as well as configuring the operating system, shared storage and private network. The normal timeframe for some of the most popular add-ons is:

Prepare the servers for the RAC cluster. This includes all custom configuration required for RAC after the operating system has been installed and patched. 0.50

Configure and test RMAN backups for the test DB. The scripts/processes can easily be ported to any DB that is added later. 0.50

In addition to meeting the RAC installation prerequisites (Download the prerequisite checklist), the customer is responsible for resolving any issues with hardware, shared storage, networking or the operating system.
