Junior DBA
Remote Control DBA, LLP is an innovative IT consulting firm in Columbia, SC. Founded by two well-rounded and respected consultants, Remote Control DBA enjoys a great deal of success in the IT industry. Remote Control DBA specializes in remote administration and monitoring for roughly 100 servers and 300 databases, with customers on six continents. Remote Control DBA also engages in on-site implementations for complex technology solutions such as Oracle RAC.
Remote Control DBA is growing rapidly and is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team. Remote Control DBA will provide the right candidate a chance to grow and advance as quickly as the company is. Remote Control DBA provides an intense in-house training program focused on Oracle and UNIX Administration. You will be trained by one of two senior consultants, who have a combined 20+ years experience in IT.
The ideal candidate is a junior to mid-level Database or System Administrator with a strong understanding or core computer architecture. Recent college graduates are welcomed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to learn fast, as well as a motivation to quickly become a senior level administrator and eventually a Team Lead. Simply stated, Remote Control DBA is looking for a highly motivated junior to mid-level candidate with some database and UNIX operating system knowledge that we will turn into an IT Stud.
The ideal candidate will possess a majority of the following technical skills:
- Excellent understanding of computer architecture
- Ability to learn new technology fast
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiar with relational databases. Oracle is a plus
- Familiar with UNIX operating systems. Solaris or RedHat is a plus
- A good understanding of programming logic. PL/SQL, Java, or Perl is a plus
- Web development experience
- Performance tuning experience
- Experience with backup and recovery technique
